Jessica Lieffring, founder and CEO of Polite Society, is a former advertising executive who realized she could use her passion for manners and etiquette to help foster better personal interactions in both the corporate and social worlds.
Prior to building her business, Jessica studied at the UK’s Leading Etiquette, Protocol, and Household Management Consultancy, founded by a former member of The Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen. She was trained by the “UK’s leading coach and expert in Etiquette” (BBC) as well as a former actress and BBC broadcaster.
With Polite Society, Jessica has brought the British Etiquette style back to the United States, and has tailored the stricter British protocol to fit with the needs of modern Americans. She continues to hone her skills to further benefit her American clients through continued education in the US.
Jodie Hiveley joined Polite Society in Fall 2018. As Executive Director, she is responsible for administrative needs our clients and company require, as well as bespoke course planning. Prior to joining Polite Society, Jodie worked in the non-profit sector as a Development Officer at the National Main Street Center and as a Volunteer Coordinator at The American Red Cross.

She is based in Chicago with her husband, Jon, and daughter, Greta. Jodie values the importance of proper manners, a positive attitude and an open mind as she continues to pursue her passions of understanding the history and culture of the places and people she encounters, personally and professionally.
